Feeding 20 hungry people in downtown Gatlinburg is easy if you know which restaurants are set up for groups, and painful if you don't. The capacities, fees and rules below come from each restaurant's own website, checked in October 2026. Policies change, so call ahead before you promise the group a table.

The Park Grill: best for a big sit-down celebration

The Park Grill's groups page says it can host parties of up to 150 and books groups in advance through a request form. It has three private or semi-private spaces, each with a room fee for 2 hours:

Calhoun's Gatlinburg: Southern barbecue with banquet space

Calhoun's Gatlinburg says it can host banquets for up to 40 guests and asks parties of more than 8 to call to book. It shares its address with Smoky Mountain Brewery, which also takes banquet bookings through its office.

Bennett's Pit Bar-B-Que: no reservations, but great for a cabin feast

Bennett's has a semi-private dining area for about 45 at its Gatlinburg location and about 80 in Pigeon Forge. It offers group pricing for 20 or more. It doesn't take reservations; instead it runs an online waitlist (FAQ). For a big family, the bulk to-go and off-site catering options may be the better choice: bring a barbecue feast back to the cabin and eat on the deck.

The Peddler Steakhouse: know the rules before you go

The Peddler's group policy is clear: it doesn't book large groups in advance. Instead, you call on the day of your visit, starting one hour before opening. River-view tables seat only 1 to 4 people, there are no private dining rooms, and gratuity is not added automatically. It charges a $10 corkage fee per 750 ml bottle and a $50 cake fee.

Howard's Restaurant: private rooms, with date limits

Howard's has private and semi-private dining areas for events. Its private-event bookings are not available at all in October or on any Friday or Saturday, so plan a weeknight.

Crockett's Breakfast Camp: the group breakfast

Crockett's Breakfast Camp serves breakfast from 7 AM to 1 PM every day. It doesn't take reservations; join the online waitlist before you leave the cabin.

Just over the line: Mama's Farmhouse in Pigeon Forge

If the group needs one room for everyone, Mama's Farmhouse in Pigeon Forge has a semi-private space called The Barn for up to 92 guests with all-you-can-eat Southern-style cooking.

Tips for ordering for 15 or more

Or let dinner come to you

Some of the best group meals happen at the house. Tanasi Lodge has two kitchens, and the main kitchen's tables seat 12 and 4. Majestica Lodge has a dining hall with a fireplace and a covered outdoor dining pavilion. Splashing at the Bluff has a full kitchen and a deck with a gas fire pit. Pair any of them with barbecue to-go or catering and a movie in the home theater.

Quick answers

What Gatlinburg restaurant can seat the biggest group?

Of the restaurants we checked, The Park Grill publishes the largest capacity: it can host parties of up to 150, and its largest private room, Wright's Roost, holds up to 56.

Do Gatlinburg restaurants take reservations for large groups?

Some do. The Park Grill and Calhoun's take group bookings, and Calhoun's asks parties of more than 8 to call ahead. Others, such as Bennett's Pit Bar-B-Que and Crockett's Breakfast Camp, run online waitlists instead, and The Peddler Steakhouse only takes large parties by phone on the same day.

Is The Melting Pot in Gatlinburg still open?

No. The Melting Pot's Gatlinburg location closed on August 31, 2026, so older lists that recommend it are out of date.
