Planning a Pigeon Forge trip for 15, 20 or 30 people is a different job from planning one for a family of four. Tickets need to be bought in blocks, dinners need booking ahead, and the best part of the trip is often the time everyone spends together back at the cabin. This guide covers the options that work at group scale, with the booking rules each venue publishes. We checked them in October 2026.

The short answer

1. Dollywood: reserve as a group, at least two weeks out

Dollywood is the anchor of most Pigeon Forge group trips, and it rewards planning. According to Dollywood's group booking page, posted group rates require an advance reservation and are not sold at park ticket windows. Theme-park and water-park reservations made at least 2 weeks ahead receive 1 free ticket for every 15 admissions bought at the regular group rate. Tickets prepaid at least 2 weeks ahead can be shipped to you at no extra cost, so you can hand them out before anyone reaches the gate.

The same page describes a "No Worry Rain Guarantee": if rain shortens your visit, you can ask for a rain check that is valid until the end of the season. Meal vouchers bought at least 2 weeks ahead also earn 1 free $10 voucher for every 15 purchased, which is an easy way to cover lunch for a big group. Private catered pavilion meals are for groups of 100 or more. Dollywood's group FAQ notes that outside food and coolers are not allowed in the parks.

Drive time from our homes: about 11 to 14 miles, or roughly 31 to 37 minutes without traffic, depending on the home (see the distance table).

2. The Island in Pigeon Forge: the easy free evening

When a big group is tired and nobody can agree, The Island is the safe choice. It has more than 80 shops, restaurants, rides and experiences on 23 acres, anchored by the 200-foot Great Smoky Mountain Wheel. The Island Show Fountain is choreographed to 14 pieces of music and is free for all guests. It looks best after dark. Agree on a meeting time at the fountain, then let teens, parents and grandparents go their own ways.

3. A dinner show for the whole crew

Dolly Parton's Stampede offers group pricing for parties of 20 or more and says it can host groups of up to 1,000. That makes it one of the few places in town where 30 people can eat a meal and watch a show together without splitting up. Contact its group services team or use the form on its groups page to price your date.

4. Cades Cove and the national park

Great Smoky Mountains National Park charges no entrance fee, but the NPS requires a parking tag for any vehicle parked in the park for more than 15 minutes. Tags cost $5 a day, $15 a week or $40 a year. Each parked vehicle needs its own tag, so carpooling saves money as well as parking spaces.

The Cades Cove loop road is an 11-mile, one-way drive past historic buildings and open fields where wildlife is often seen. It can be slow on busy days, so bring snacks and plan on a few hours. In 2026 the park ran vehicle-free Wednesdays on the loop from May 6 to September 30, which suited groups with cyclists. Check the NPS page for the current year's schedule.

5. Reserve a pavilion for a group picnic

The City of Pigeon Forge's Wear Farm City Park has two covered pavilions that can be reserved for parties and reunions. Pavilion 1 has 10 picnic tables and Pavilion 2 has 8. Both have a charcoal grill, electrical outlets and lighting, and both sit next to a playground. Reservations are made by phone with the Pigeon Forge Community Center. Pavilions can be reserved from March 1 to October 31, and booking for the current year opens in January. Alcohol and amplified sound are not permitted.

6. A sample day that keeps everyone happy

  1. Morning: thrill-seekers head to Dollywood with group tickets; anyone who wants a quieter day drives Cades Cove.
  2. Afternoon: everyone else gets pool and game time back at the cabin.
  3. Early evening: meet at The Island for dinner and the fountain show.
  4. Night: a movie in the home theater, or s'mores at the fire pit.

7. The best venue might be your cabin

For a group of 20 or more, the house you rent decides how much of the trip you spend together. Each of our three homes has room for the whole group and enough to do that nobody has to leave:
